I’ve been using BBEdit since the old days of the macintosh. I bought my own copy back at the 6.0 days, and the OSX version was great. I really loved it.

Upgraded through to 7.0 a while back, which really wasn’t a great leap for me, but now 8.0 is out!

The features that interest me are

  • Better syntax highlighting. BBEdit has always been good at this, but now they hare a new feature which makes it easy to make custom highlighting schemes, which is great for me. I’ll be able to make one for Foundry config files :D
  • Better unix integration
  • Better document organisation and navigation.

Now, if only I can get the online store site to load! Ugh! So slow!
