Contemplating a Mac Pro

I’ve been contemplating purchasing a Mac Pro for a while. They’re simply a fantastically powerful machine.

The only drawback on the current model is the lack of a decent video card option. I’d like to see at least a nVidia 8800GT in the thing, and thats just not possible right now.

The rumour is that they will release an update to these machines when 10.5 is released. I’m hoping this is the case. I’m hoping that this will happen this month or in November. I don’t like waiting for my geek toys.

One thing for sure, It’d play WoW like a champ!

Hey Nathan, I succumbed. The rumors now talk about a Macbook update in early November but no MPro updates until the new year. I have a 17″ MPro 2.4ghz with 4gigs of RAM (at last, parallels can run without killing my system). It’s nice to have a slightly faster computer, I remember the excitement of getting my first Intel, now it’s like “is that it”? The high res display (1920×1200 I think) is pretty awesome though. C’mon, pull the trigger!
