Dead right. A house is a liability unless it is cash flow positive - ie, you are renting it out for more than it costs you.

It's nice to hear someone with their head screwed on. He says what I've been saying for a long time now. I am not an economist but I have thought that the US economy was in trouble for the last few years as you can't just keep borrowing money from the world, because at some point the world will realise you have no ability to pay it back, and as soon as that happens the house of cards collapses.
In Australia we are lucky in that we have lots of resources to pay for our otherwise extragavent lifestyles.
I love how Art Laffer thinks that stock values and housing prices actually equal wealth. They are only worth anything when you actually sell them, until then it's only potential wealth. So long as you have any amount of mortgage, your house is a liability, not an asset, as many US home owners have discovered when they can't sell their house to pay off their overpriced mortgage!

Great work - the app works brilliantly. As for 1.1, I think SNMP monitoring is a fantastic idea as there's really nothing easy out there that can use this info. As long as it works with the SNMP in my Draytek 2700 VG :)

Nodequota is great!
I have recently crossed over from Windoze and was getting withdrawals from not having my MUM usage meter. I found this at the whirlpool forums. How about you contact Internode and have them add it to their list of usage meters. I'm sure a lot of other people would appreciate your fine efforts.
Thanks again.

It'll be a week or so before I work out the specifications. 1.1 is in early design/prototype phase.

Once someone has a perl script that outputs the right data for their ISP, they can send it to me

if you tell me how to extract the data from ISP, I will provide the data for you

Not as yet. I've started work on it and the design is coming together as well as a few of the individual components, but as for supporting other ISPs that might be a while down the track. I'd need help from people to get those features implemented.

That said, the way I'm thinking about doing this is providing separate modules for each ISP that I support, and another module that allows you to write a script in perl or applescript that does the HTML scraping of account information, effectively providing a method for anyone with basic scripting ability to add support for their ISP.

This module would be heavier (it would need to fork a perl interpreter every time it gathers data) but would be a good solution for all the other ISPs I don't have a way to test. Once someone has a perl script that outputs the right data for their ISP, they can send it to me and I can implement it in Objective-C and have it supported natively.

I would love to see this type of usage for my ISP (Adam Internet) also. Looking for 1.1 release, any estimated date?

Having some problems with NodeQuota which is great when it works. The colours don't work as you have indicated. Currently reading 77.2% and colour is red. BUT the biggest problem is it loses my internode password every time I log off or restart.

INodeMon also gave me problems in that it would quit (disappear from menu bar) unexpectedly.

Not sure if this is some problems on my machine (intel iMac running 10.5.4)

Also it would be great if the passsword field would accept a paste instruction so that you could copy and paste in your password from another application.

Looking forward to any help you can offer, thanks !
